Our research tracks 7,344 researchers, builders, lab leaders and public voices across 1,643 organizations, pairing each person’s biography and dated career timeline from 63,241 cited public sources with publication records from OpenAlex.

Superintelligence names the machine intelligence that these people work to build, study or warn about, and it also refers to the people themselves, whose combined work moves the field forward. Following where artificial intelligence is heading starts with knowing who is doing the work, where they trained and how they move between universities, companies and labs: we estimate 39,344 dated work positions and 24,530 career moves across the field.
