Greg S. Corrado
Also known as Greg Corrado, Gregory Corrado
Greg Corrado is a senior research scientist at Google Research and a co-founder of the Google Brain team. He completed a physics degree at Princeton in 1999 and a Stanford thesis on value-based decision-making in 2007. After neuromorphic research at IBM, he joined Google in 2010, and the Google Brain project began in 2011. The team's 2012 neural network learned to recognize cats from unlabeled YouTube stills, and the 2013 word2vec paper received a NeurIPS Test of Time Award in 2023. He became head of health AI at Google Research in 2016, and ICML gave an honorable mention to Building high-level features using large scale unsupervised learning in 2022.
Timeline
-
1999
A physics degree from Princeton
He earns a Bachelor of Arts in physics from Princeton University in 1999.
-
2007
A thesis on value-based decisions
He completes graduate studies in computer science and neuroscience at Stanford, with a 2007 thesis on value-based decision-making in the primate brain.
-
2010–2011
Joining Google and Google Brain
He moves to Google in 2010 after IBM Research work on neuromorphic silicon devices. He co-founds Google Brain, a project that begins in 2011 at Google X.
