Bernd Bischl
Bernd Bischl studies model selection, automated machine learning and interpretable methods. His work also includes shared software and open research infrastructure. Bischl earned a statistics doctorate at TU Dortmund in August 2013. His thesis studied model and algorithm selection in statistical learning and optimization. Bischl held an LMU computational-statistics professorship from June 2015 to April 2020. He became a full professor in statistical learning and data science in May 2020. Bischl became co-director of the Munich Center for Machine Learning in January 2019. The role accompanies his work on automated model selection and statistical learning.
