Haniyeh Mahmoudian

Haniyeh Mahmoudian is an AI ethicist whose career connects astrophysics research, responsible AI and U.S. policy. She coauthored a 2013 paper on gravitational-lensing image modeling and held a PhD in astronomy and astrophysics from Bonn by 2021. At DataRobot, she led the Applied AI Ethics Team and wrote about data governance for AI in marketing. She testified at a House Armed Services hearing about battlefield AI in 2023 and spoke about AI regulation and responsible-use education in 2024 as a NAIAC adviser. Since 2025, she is a Responsible AI Manager at Accenture.

    Leading DataRobot’s AI ethics team

    In April 2021, DataRobot names her Global AI Ethicist and assigns her to lead the Applied AI Ethics Team. The team creates technical resources and governance frameworks for DataRobot stakeholders.

  4. June 2021

    Data governance in AI marketing

    In June 2021, she publishes an article on data governance in marketing analytics and AI. It describes how data-governance standards can help teams address data security and privacy concerns.

  5. July 2023

    Testifying on battlefield AI

    In July 2023, she testifies before a House Armed Services subcommittee on barriers to Defense Department AI adoption and the risks of adversarial AI.

  6. January 2024

    Advising NAIAC on AI regulation

    In January 2024, she serves as a Global AI Ethicist at DataRobot and adviser to NAIAC. She discusses AI regulation, ethics and education for responsible AI in a RegulatingAI interview.
