Earl B. Hunt
Also known as Earl Busby Hunt, Buz Hunt

He earned a bachelor's degree at Stanford and a doctorate at Yale, then held faculty posts at UCLA and Sydney before joining the University of Washington. At UW, he helped found computer science and held the psychology chair; his books covered concept learning and artificial intelligence. He became professor emeritus in 2001, received ISIR's 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award and the 2011 James McKeen Cattell Fellow Award, served as ISIR's first elected president in 2011, and died in 2016.
