Sinno Pan
Also known as Sinno Jialin Pan
Sinno Pan is a professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the IEEE made him a Fellow in the class of 2025 for contributions to transfer learning methodologies. He earned applied-mathematics degrees at Sun Yat-sen University and a computer-science PhD at HKUST in 2011. From 2010 to 2014 he worked as a scientist and lab head of text analytics at the Institute for Infocomm Research in Singapore. In 2014 he joined Nanyang Technological University as an assistant professor, and in 2022 he moved to CUHK after serving as Provost's Chair Professor at NTU. Among his works is the book Transfer Learning, which Cambridge University Press published in 2020, and he now directs the JC STEM Lab of Machine Learning and Symbolic Reasoning.
