Tibor Vámos
Tibor Vámos was an engineer and AI researcher whose work moved from power-plant control to knowledge-based systems, robot vision and epistemology. He helped found the HAS Research Institute of Automation and directed SZTAKI. His book Computer Epistemology appeared in 1991, and in 2002 he presented an AI project for administrative decision support. He served as IFAC president from 1981 to 1984, became an IEEE Fellow in 1986 and died in 2021 at age 95.
