Ah Chung Tsoi
Also known as Tsoi Ah-Chung
Ah Chung Tsoi is an AI researcher whose work spans neural networks, graph learning and computer vision. He earned a Higher Diploma in Electronic Engineering at Hong Kong Technical College in 1969, then an MSc in 1970 and a PhD in 1972 at the University of Salford. His career included senior posts at Queensland, Wollongong, the Australian Research Council, Monash and Hong Kong Baptist University before he became Dean of Information Technology at Macau University of Science and Technology in 2010. He coauthored The Graph Neural Network Model in 2008 and led MUST projects on web spam detection and human action recognition; his 2025 paper introduced an attention architecture for facial-expression detection and classification. As of October 2026, he is an Emeritus Professor at Wollongong and Secretary of DRPT International.
Timeline
