Steffen Lilholt Lauritzen

Also known as Steffen Lauritzen

Steffen Lilholt Lauritzen is a Danish statistician whose work on graphical models, called Bayesian networks in computer science, has applications in artificial intelligence. He earned statistics degrees at Copenhagen, became a professor at Aalborg, and later held a professorship at Oxford. He published Graphical Models in 1996 and coauthored Probabilistic Networks and Expert Systems in 1999. He is Professor Emeritus at the University of Copenhagen, and a second edition of Graphical Models appeared in 2026.
