Eric Chen has worked on browser security, machine learning systems, and multimodal AI. His early research on App Isolation and password-manager defenses appeared in 2011 and 2014. In 2023 he coauthored SmartChoices, which explored machine learning for mature software. At Reka, he coauthored the Core, Flash, and Edge report and the Vibe-Eval benchmark. As of October 2026, he is Salient's vice president of artificial intelligence.
