Lantao Liu
Lantao Liu researches robotics and AI. His laboratory studies robots that learn from experience, reason under uncertainty and coordinate safe actions. Liu earned an automatic-control degree from Beijing Institute of Technology in 2007 and a computer-science and engineering doctorate from Texas A&M in 2013. He was a CMU Robotics Institute postdoctoral fellow from 2013 to 2015 and a USC computer-science postdoctoral research associate from 2015 to 2017. His Vehicle Autonomy and Intelligence Lab researches learning, decisions and safe autonomy in uncertain environments. The programme spans ground, aerial and aquatic vehicles, manipulators and other robot systems.
