Jonathan Ross
Jonathan Ross helped start Google's Tensor Processing Unit effort and founded Groq, whose Language Processing Unit serves large language model inference. He studied under Yann LeCun at New York University's Courant Institute and worked on Google's TPU and Google X's Rapid Eval Team before Groq's 2016 founding. In September 2023, he presented Groq's LPU running Llama-2 70B at GroqDay in Mountain View. GroqCloud launched in March 2024, and in 2024 Time magazine included him on its list of the 100 most influential people in artificial intelligence. In July 2025, Groq announced its first European data-center footprint in Helsinki; as of October 2026, he is Nvidia's Chief Software Architect, helping advance and scale Groq's licensed inference technology.
