Rongrong Ji

Also known as 纪荣嵘, Ji Rongrong

Rongrong Ji is a professor whose work on neural network compression and efficient visual recognition earned a 2024 fellowship from the International Association for Pattern Recognition. He earned a B.Eng. from Harbin Engineering University in 2005 and a Ph.D. from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2011. He was a postdoctoral researcher at Columbia University from 2011 to 2013, and he began working at Xiamen University in 2013. His honors include a Microsoft Fellowship in 2007, a best paper award at ACM Multimedia in 2011, and national science and talent honors in 2014, 2017, and 2020. As of October 2026, he is a Nanqiang Distinguished Professor at Xiamen University, with research interests in mobile visual search and visual scene analysis.
