Charu Chandra Aggarwal

Charu Chandra Aggarwal is a data-mining researcher whose work reaches into artificial intelligence, and he is a Distinguished Research Staff Member at IBM. After a computer science degree at IIT Kanpur in 1993 and a PhD at MIT in 1996, he joined IBM Research straight out of the doctoral program. In 2003 IBM gave him a Corporate Award for his work on bio-terrorist threat detection in data streams, and the IEEE, ACM and SIAM each named him a Fellow between 2010 and 2015. The IEEE Computer Society gave him its highest award across computer science in 2021. He published Artificial Intelligence: A Textbook with Springer in June 2021.
