Eric Moulines
Eric Moulines studies statistical learning, Monte Carlo methods and stochastic algorithms. His career connects speech and signal research to probabilistic inference and data science. Moulines was a professor at Télécom Paris from 1996 to 2015. His research covers latent dynamic models, theoretical inference and sequential Monte Carlo methods. He moved to École Polytechnique in September 2015, where he developed statistics and data-science teaching. He gradually shifted his research toward computational statistics during the mid-2000s. He works on Monte Carlo sampling, stochastic optimization, generative models and predictive uncertainty.
