Merve Hickok

Merve Hickok is president and policy director of the Center for AI and Digital Policy (CAIDP), and her work focuses on the impact of AI systems on individuals and society. She teaches data science ethics at the University of Michigan School of Information and is founder of AIethicist.org. She was named one of the 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics in 2021, and she testified before a US House subcommittee on advances in AI in March 2023. In 2023 she won the Lifetime Achievement Award - Women in AI of the Year. In December 2024 a webinar featured her book on the public procurement of AI systems.

    She wins the Lifetime Achievement Award - Women in AI of the Year at the Women in AI Awards North America 2023.

    In December 2024 Ann Arbor SPARK features her book on the public procurement of AI systems in a webinar.
