Xinbo Gao

Xinbo Gao is an AI researcher whose work spans computer vision, pattern recognition and image super-resolution. He earned B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in signal and information processing at Xidian University and worked as a research associate at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research includes a survey of facial feature point detection and a compact network for image super-resolution. IEEE named him a Fellow in 2024 for contributions to hybrid augmented intelligence and image quality assessment. As of October 2026, he is president of Xidian University.
