Huchuan Lu
Also known as 卢湖川, Lu Huchuan
Huchuan Lu is a computer-vision researcher at Dalian University of Technology (DUT), and his work includes saliency detection and visual object tracking. He studied electrical engineering at DUT, earned a Ph.D. in systems engineering in 2008, and began teaching there as a full-time professor in 2012. His CVPR papers from 2013 and 2015 covered graph-based ranking and deep networks for saliency detection, and his 2017 CVPR paper used image-level supervision. The IEEE Circuits and Systems Society elevated him to IEEE Fellow in 2024 for contributions to visual object tracking and salient object detection. As of October 2026, he is a professor and PhD supervisor at Dalian University of Technology.
