Diane J. Cook

Also known as Diane Joyce Cook, Diane Cook

Diane Cook is a computer scientist at Washington State University whose work applies machine learning to sensor data and digital health. Her doctoral work at the University of Illinois, finished in 1990, concerned planning in artificial intelligence. She taught at the University of Texas at Arlington from 1992 to 2006 before she became Huie-Rogers Chair Professor at Washington State University. The Association for Computing Machinery named her an ACM Fellow in the 2024 class for contributions to machine learning and digital health. As of October 2026, she leads the CASAS lab, where the team works on designing human digital twins for health assessment and intervention.
