Vijaye Raji
Vijaye Raji is chief technology officer of applications at OpenAI, where he oversees ads, growth, and foundational data and engineering, and his teams contribute to ChatGPT and Codex. He completed a bachelor of engineering degree in 1999, spent nearly a decade at Microsoft, and joined Facebook in 2011. Over 10 years there he moved from software engineer to vice president and head of entertainment, through head of gaming and head of Facebook Seattle. In February 2021 he founded Statsig, and in September 2025 he became CTO of Applications after OpenAI acquired the company for about $1.1 billion, with responsibility for product engineering on ChatGPT and Codex. In 2026 TIME placed him on its Executives of the Year list for tech and data, and in October 2026 Amplitude appointed the former Statsig chief executive to its board.
