Peyman Milanfar
Peyman Milanfar is a Distinguished Scientist at Google, where he leads the Computational Imaging team. In 2016 he wrote about RAISR, a machine-learning method for sharper images, and in 2018 he co-wrote the post introducing Super Res Zoom for the Pixel 3. He earned an MIT doctorate in 1993, then worked at SRI International from 1994 to 1999. He taught electrical engineering at UC Santa Cruz from 1999 to 2014 and received an NSF CAREER award in 2000. He was elected an IEEE Fellow in 2010 and to the National Academy of Engineering in 2026.
