Kenneth Church
Kenneth Church studies statistical language processing, including shared work on word association and corpus-based analysis. Church and Patrick Hanks published work on word association, mutual information and lexicography. The original paper describes estimating word probabilities and their joint occurrence from corpus counts, then comparing observed association with chance. Church coauthored a paper on general fine-tuning with X. Cai, Y. Ying, Z. Chen, G. Xun and Y. Bian. He also worked with Valia Kordoni on the pursuit of state-of-the-art results.
