Guang‐Can Guo

Also known as Guang-Can Guo, Guo Guangcan, 郭光灿

As of October 2026, Guang-Can Guo is a professor at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), and his quantum research has also applied deep learning. In the 1980s he introduced the theoretical system of quantum optics to China, and in the 1990s he turned to quantum information. He was elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2003 and co-founded the quantum computer company Origin Quantum with Guo Guoping in 2017. In 2021 he won the second prize in the 2020 National Natural Science Award. In 2022 he co-authored a Nature Communications paper that combined Rydberg atoms with a deep learning model.
