Ross Overbeek

Also known as Ross A. Overbeek

Ross Overbeek is known for automated theorem proving, a field in which programs derive proofs from logical rules. In the early 1970s his AURA prover replaced the standard system in the field. In 1988 he co-edited the proceedings of the Ninth International Conference on Automated Deduction. Overbeek co-founded Integrated Genomics in 1998 and the Fellowship for Interpretation of Genomes in 2003. As of October 2026, he is a computer scientist with a long tenure at Argonne National Laboratory.
