Bhrigu Kansra
Bhrigu Kansra is an AI researcher whose work focuses on federated learning, AI data quality, and audio machine learning. He earned a B.Tech in Information Technology at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology from 2017 to 2021, participating in the Delhi Design Innovation Boot Camp in 2018 and the MIT India Initiative Design, Technology and Social Innovation Workshop in August 2019. During a 2019 Celestini Project India summer research internship at IIT Delhi, he built a mobile-microphone audio system to tackle harassment against women and joined Delhi's TAVAS team on an Android app recognized by the Marconi Society in July 2020. In 2020, he coauthored CrossPriv with Harshita Diddee on cross-silo federated privacy for pneumonia X-ray detection at ASE 2020 and was selected for the BlockFITS federated data-augmentation paper accepted at ICICC 2021. After researching AI data quality and federated learning as a Research Assistant in DFKI's Data Science and its Applications group, he pursues a master's in Computer Science at RPTU Kaiserslautern as of October 2026.
Timeline
-
2017–2021
Information technology at MAIT
He studies for a B.Tech in Information Technology at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology from 2017 to 2021.
-
September–October 2018
Delhi Design Innovation Boot Camp
From September to October 2018, he participates in the Delhi Design Innovation Boot Camp in New Delhi.
-
June–August 2019
Audio safety research at IIT Delhi
From June to August 2019, he works as a summer research intern at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi after being selected as an undergraduate researcher for Celestini Project India 2019. During the 2019 internship, he builds a mobile-microphone system to tackle harassment against women using sliding-window MFCCs for real-time audio feature extraction. In August 2019, he is also selected for the MIT India Initiative Design, Technology and Social Innovation Workshop.
-
July 2020
The TAVAS safety app
By July 2020, as a member of Delhi's TAVAS team recognized by the Marconi Society, he helps develop the TAVAS Android application to detect a user screaming or crying in real time so that women in danger can get help.
-
August 2020
Resource-aware machine learning
In August 2020, he attends TU Dortmund's virtual 5th International Summer School on Resource-aware Machine Learning.
-
September 2020
CrossPriv for federated privacy
In September 2020, ASE 2020 schedules CrossPriv, coauthored by Kansra and Harshita Diddee, as a poster in the Student Research Competition. The paper presents a user-privacy preservation model for cross-silo federated software and simulates training a deep learning model for pneumonia detection on X-rays across two separate data silos.
-
December 2020
BlockFITS for vehicle networks
In December 2020, he is selected for BlockFITS, a federated data-augmentation model for blockchain-based IoVT systems accepted at the 4th International Conference on Innovative Computing and Communication (ICICC 2021).
-
As of October 2026
Master's study at RPTU
As of October 2026, he pursues a master's in Computer Science at RPTU Kaiserslautern in Germany. As a Research Assistant in DFKI's Data Science and its Applications group, he researches AI data quality and federated learning.
