Seyedali Mirjalili

Also known as Seyed Ali Mirjalili

Seyedali Mirjalili is a professor of artificial intelligence at Torrens University Australia, and his research centers on nature-inspired optimization algorithms. After a computer engineering degree in Iran, he completed a PhD at Griffith University in 2016. In 2014 he co-authored the Grey Wolf Optimizer, and in 2016 he and Andrew Lewis published the Whale Optimization Algorithm. He founded the Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research and Optimization at Torrens University in 2019, and Óbuda University named him one of its Distinguished Professors in 2022. The Australian's Research magazine named him Australia's top AI researcher in 2023, and Stanford University's list of the world's top scientists has placed him No. 1 in AI since 2023.
