Negar Kiyavash
Negar Kiyavash is a full professor at EPFL, and her causal inference work applies to machine learning and artificial intelligence. She earned a B.S. from Sharif University of Technology in 1999, followed by M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2003 and 2006. She won an Air Force Young Investigator award in 2010 and an NSF CAREER award in 2011, and a Humboldt Fellowship followed in 2017. She joined Georgia Tech as an associate professor in 2018 and moved to EPFL in 2019. In 2026 the European Research Council gave her an Advanced Grant for CIEL, a project on causal inference for exploration and learning.
