Edoardo M. Airoldi
Also known as Edo Airoldi, Edoardo Maria Airoldi
Edoardo Airoldi holds the Gladfelter professorship in statistics and data science at Temple University, and he directs the Fox School's Data Science Center. His doctoral work at Carnegie Mellon University combined statistical machine learning with computational social science, and in 2008 he published mixed membership stochastic blockmodels with David Blei, Stephen Fienberg and Eric Xing. He was an assistant professor of statistics at Harvard when the Sloan Foundation named him a Sloan Research Fellow in 2012, and he founded the Harvard Laboratory for Applied Statistics & Data Science before moving to Temple in 2018. A Shutzer Fellowship at Harvard's Radcliffe Institute followed in 2015–2016, and the American Statistical Association gave him and Johnathan Bischof its Outstanding Statistical Application Award in 2016. He was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics in 2019 and of the American Statistical Association in 2020.
