Marco Gori

Marco Gori is a computer scientist whose AI research spans graph neural networks and constraint-based machine learning. He earned an electronics engineering degree in Florence in 1984, completed a Bologna PhD in 1990, and joined Siena's faculty in 1995. With Franco Scarselli, Ah Tsoi, Markus Hagenbuchner, and Gabriele Monfardini, he co-authored The Graph Neural Network Model in 2009. His 2017 book explored a constraint-based approach to machine learning, and his 2019–2023 3IA chair research connected learning, inference, and reasoning. He became an IAPR Fellow in 2014, received the 2025 Donald Hebb Award from INNS, co-founded UNaIVERSE in 2026, and as of October 2026 is a professor at Siena and a 3IA chairholder.
