Jorge Sánchez
Also known as J. Sánchez
Jorge Sánchez is a computer-vision and machine-learning researcher whose work spans 3D motion estimation, Fisher-kernel image classification and evaluation of generated opinion summaries. He earned a PhD in Engineering Sciences from the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba and joined CONICET in 2014. His 2010 Fisher-kernel paper received ECCV’s Koenderink Prize in 2020, and by 2023 he headed Applied Machine Learning Research at Mercado Libre Argentina. In 2026, he coauthored FactSim, an automated method for measuring factual consistency and coverage in generated opinion summaries, with a MercadoLibre affiliation.
