Petia Radeva

Petia Radeva is a full professor at the University of Barcelona, and her contributions cover computer vision, machine learning, egocentric vision, life-logging, and medical imaging. Her training included an applied mathematics degree from Sofia in 1989 and a computer vision PhD at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 1996. In 2007 she joined the University of Barcelona as a tenured associate professor, and from 2009 to 2013 she served as Director of Computer Science Undergraduate Studies. The International Association for Pattern Recognition named her a Fellow in 2016, and she received the Narcís Monturiol Medal in April 2024. As of October 2026, she is an editor-in-chief of Pattern Recognition.

    In 1989 she completes an undergraduate degree in applied mathematics at the University of Sofia, Bulgaria.
