Sitharama Iyengar

Also known as Sundaraja Sitharama Iyengar, Ram Iyengar

Sitharama Iyengar is a professor at Florida International University whose work on digital forensics includes artificial intelligence. He completed his Ph.D. at Mississippi State University in 1974 and chaired LSU's computer science department from 1992 to 2011. The IEEE Cybermatics Congress gave him a Test of Time award in 2019, and his Brooks–Iyengar algorithm, developed alongside Richard Brooks, is applied in industry. Springer published his book Deep Learning Networks: Design, Development and Deployment in 2023. In January 2025 Poznań University of Technology honored him as a Founding Father and Distinguished Scientist in AI and ML.
