Aditya Vashistha
Aditya Vashistha is a Cornell information science professor who studies globally equitable AI for historically marginalized communities. His early work examined educational content created and shared by low-income visually impaired people and community voice systems for rural India, and he completed a computer science and engineering PhD at the University of Washington in 2019. He coauthored a 2021 study of AI-enabled rural health apps and held a Cornell fellowship focused on misinformation and digital inequality. His 2024 study of gender bias in Hindi language technology won FAccT's Best Paper Award, and his 2025 work found that AI writing suggestions pushed Indian participants' writing toward Western styles. In 2026, he received an NSF Faculty Early Career Development Award and contributed to Shiksha Copilot; he leads Cornell's Global AI Initiative.
