David Buckeridge
David Buckeridge is a public health informatician whose work uses AI and data methods to study disease surveillance and population health. He joined a 2018 panel on ethical AI in public health, became an associate member of Mila in 2020, and worked with PHAC and WHO on AI analysis of coronavirus news. An October 2020 paper he coauthored studied privacy-aware predictions of individual infectiousness for contact tracing. His training includes an MD from Queen's University, an MSc in Epidemiology from Toronto, and a PhD in Biomedical Informatics from Stanford; in September 2025 he was scheduled to present on the CITF Databank at McGill. As of October 2026, he directs McGill's Surveillance Lab, serves as Chief Digital Health Officer at the MUHC, and is Executive Scientific Director of the Public Health Agency of Canada.
