Todd Young

Todd Young is the senior U.S. senator from Indiana, and his AI work has centered on federal legislation and policy roadmaps. He graduated from the Naval Academy in 1995 and then accepted a Marine Corps commission. He represented Indiana's 9th congressional district in the House from 2011 to 2017 and chaired the National Republican Senatorial Committee from 2019 to 2021. In April 2024 he cosponsored the Future of AI Innovation Act with Maria Cantwell, and in May 2024 the Bipartisan Senate AI Working Group, which includes him, released a roadmap for AI policy. In May 2025 he led a bill to set up a national AI awareness campaign, and in February 2026 he reintroduced the Future of AI Innovation Act with Maria Cantwell.
