Ronen Eldan
Also known as רונן אלדן
Ronen Eldan is a mathematician whose probability work has moved into language-model research. He earned degrees in mathematics from the Open University of Israel and Tel Aviv University before he joined the Weizmann Institute of Science in 2015. The 2023 New Horizons in Mathematics Prize recognized his stochastic localization method, which has led to significant progress on open problems in high-dimensional geometry and probability. He and Yuanzhi Li submitted TinyStories in May 2023, and in December 2024 he co-authored the Phi-4 technical report, which introduces a 14-billion-parameter language model. He is a researcher at OpenAI, a post he has held since 2025.
