Aarush Katta

Also known as ARKseal

Aarush Katta is an AI researcher whose work includes open image-text datasets for multimodal model research. He coauthored LAION-400M in 2021 and LAION-5B in 2022. The LAION-5B paper won the NeurIPS 2022 Outstanding Paper Award, and he was a founding member of LAION by January 2023. During his senior year at Stevenson in 2023–2024, he worked on predictive modeling for cyberbullying. As of October 2026, he is an undergraduate research assistant in the Systems & AI Lab at The Ohio State University, with interests in AI/ML, high-performance computing, deep learning, and computer vision.
