Vladimir Gorodetski
Also known as Vladimir Gorodetsky
Vladimir Gorodetski is a Russian computer scientist whose AI work spans multi-agent systems, industrial applications and data science. Born in Leningrad in 1937, he earned degrees in mechanics and mathematics and completed doctoral work on space-vehicle optimal control. He held research and teaching posts at the Military Engineering Academy and led the Intelligent Systems Laboratory at SPIIRAS. He co-edited the Lecture Notes series and wrote about industrial multi-agent technology. He received the Pospelov Award of the Russian Association for Artificial Intelligence in 2022 and presented on data science and AI in 2023; as of October 2026, he serves on IITI's International Program Committee with JSC "Eureca" as his affiliation.

Engineering, mathematics and optimal control
Born in Leningrad in 1937, he earns a master's degree in mechanics from Leningrad Air Force Engineering Academy in 1960 and a master's degree in mathematics from Leningrad State University's Mathematics and Mechanics Faculty in 1970. He receives a Ph.D. in 1967 and a Doctor of Technical Sciences degree in 1973 for work on space-vehicle optimal control.

He holds research and teaching positions at the Military Engineering Academy after Mozhaisky in Leningrad from 1967 to 1988.

Leading the Intelligent Systems Laboratory
He heads the Laboratory of Intelligent Systems and serves as its chief scientist at the St. Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation of the Russian Academy of Sciences from 1988 to 2018.
