Manfred K. Warmuth
Also known as Manfred Klaus Warmuth, Manfred Warmuth
Warmuth is known for online learning algorithms, including the weighted majority method for combining the results of several predictors. He earned a doctorate at the University of Colorado Boulder in 1981 and joined UC Santa Cruz in 1983. In 2017 he became a Distinguished Professor there, and he retired as a professor emeritus in 2018. From 2019 to 2020 he held a visiting faculty post at Google Brain. As of October 2026, he works at Google Research in New York.
