Pedro Domingos
Pedro Domingos completed his doctorate in information and computer science at UC Irvine in 1997. His earlier degrees came from Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon and UC Irvine. His work includes Alchemy for statistical relational AI, SPN for sum-product networks and VFML for mining large data sources. The tools reflect research in probabilistic representations, scalable learning and tractable inference. Domingos coauthored Markov Logic with Daniel Lowd in 2009 and wrote The Master Algorithm in 2015. Domingos is a UW professor emeritus whose research focuses on machine learning and data mining.
