Ari Morcos

Ari Morcos is co-founder and CEO of DatologyAI, a company that describes itself as a data research lab. His research examines the mechanisms underlying neural network computation, and his papers include a NeurIPS 2022 Outstanding Paper on data pruning and an ICLR 2023 Outstanding Paper on maps in blind navigation agents. He has also been a research scientist at Facebook AI and has worked at DeepMind in London, and he holds a neurobiology Ph.D. from Harvard. In May 2024, DatologyAI announced a $46M Series A led by Felicis Ventures.

    Research at Facebook AI

    In June 2020 he is a research scientist at Facebook AI. He previously works at DeepMind in London and holds a Ph.D. in neurobiology from Harvard.

  2. 2022

    A NeurIPS Outstanding Paper

    In 2022 NeurIPS names 'Beyond neural scaling laws: beating power law scaling via data pruning' an Outstanding Paper. Morcos is one of its five authors.

  3. 2023

    Maps in blind navigation agents

    In 2023 ICLR gives an Outstanding Paper award to 'Emergence of Maps in the Memories of Blind Navigation Agents', which Morcos co-wrote. He is a research scientist at Meta AI Research's FAIR team in Menlo Park, studying the mechanisms underlying neural network computation.

    Co-founding DatologyAI

    He co-founds DatologyAI in 2023 with Matthew Leavitt and Bogdan Gaza. The company describes itself as a data research lab that builds a data refinery for AI teams.

  5. May 2024

    A $46M Series A

    In May 2024 DatologyAI announces a $46M Series A led by Viv Faga and Astasia Myers of Felicis Ventures.

  6. 2025

    BeyondWeb synthetic data paper

    In August 2025 DatologyAI publishes BeyondWeb, a paper on scaling synthetic data for trillion-scale pretraining.

    Chief executive of DatologyAI

    In July 2026 he is founder and chief executive officer of DatologyAI.
