Bedřich Beneš
Bedřich Beneš is a computer scientist whose research applies transformers and neural ranking to tree modeling and forest reconstruction. He earned computer-science degrees at Czech Technical University in Prague in 1991 and 1998. He worked in Purdue's Computer Graphics Technology department from 2005 to 2021 and became a professor in 2015. He served as editor-in-chief of Computer Graphics Forum through 2021, became a Eurographics Fellow in 2022, and coauthored Latent L-Systems in 2024 and TreeStructor in 2025. As of October 2026, he is a professor and associate head of computer science at Purdue, where his research connects AI with geometry and plant science.
