David Donoho
Also known as David Leigh Donoho
David Donoho is a Stanford professor whose research spans sparse signal recovery and neural collapse. He earned a bachelor's degree from Princeton University in 1978 and received a MacArthur Fellowship in 1991. He won the Shaw Prize in Mathematics in 2013 and the Gauss Prize in 2018. In 2022 he received the IEEE signal processing medal named for Jack Kilby, and ICLR 2022 gave an outstanding paper award to his work on neural collapse with two co-authors. As of October 2026, he is a Bass Professor in the School of Humanities and Sciences at Stanford.
