Peter Meer
Peter Meer is a computer vision researcher whose work centers on mean-shift methods. He earned an engineering diploma from the Bucharest Polytechnic Institute in 1971 and a doctorate from the Technion in 1986. He worked as an assistant research scientist at the University of Maryland from 1986 to 1990, then joined Rutgers' electrical and computer engineering department in 1991. With Dorin Comaniciu, he published "Mean Shift: A Robust Approach Toward Feature Space Analysis" in 2002, and with Comaniciu and Visvanathan Ramesh he shared the 2010 CVPR Longuet-Higgins Prize. He is now retired, having left Rutgers as a Distinguished Professor in 2018.
