Giuseppe De Giacomo
Giuseppe De Giacomo studies knowledge representation and automated reasoning, including temporal logics for finite sequences of actions. De Giacomo works on description logics, ontologies, reasoning about actions, planning and cognitive robotics. He also works on verification and synthesis of knowledge-based systems. De Giacomo served as program chair of ECAI 2020. He also worked on representation and reasoning. His applications include data management, service composition and process modeling.

Temporal logic on finite traces
De Giacomo and Moshe Vardi published a study of linear temporal and dynamic logic over finite traces at IJCAI. The original paper examines reasoning when a sequence ends and introduces a finite-trace dynamic logic. Both authors share the contribution. The complexity results apply under the paper’s conditions.
