Katie Bouman
Katie Bouman develops computational imaging methods. Her work combines machine learning, physics and sensor design to recover signals that conventional imaging can miss. Bouman earned a bachelor’s degree at Michigan in 2011, a master’s degree at MIT in 2013 and a doctorate in 2017. Bouman was an assistant professor at Caltech from 2019 to 2024. She also held a visiting appointment in 2018–2019.
