Adnan Y. Darwiche
Adnan Y. Darwiche studies how AI can reason with uncertainty and explicit rules, connecting probabilistic models, symbolic reasoning and machine learning. Darwiche earned a master’s degree in computer science from Stanford in 1989 and a doctorate there in 1993. He is a professor and former department chair at UCLA. Darwiche received an honorary doctorate from the University of Artois in 2022. In 2024, his World Logic Day lecture in Vienna addressed logic as a calculus of events.
