Donald Trump is the 47th president of the United States, and he signed two executive orders on federal AI policy. In January 2025 he signed Executive Order 14179, and the White House released America's AI Action Plan in July 2025. In June 2026 he signed Executive Order 14409, which set up a framework to vet the most advanced AI systems before public release. Earlier, he graduated in 1968 with an economics degree, hosted The Apprentice from 2004 to 2015, and served as the 45th president from 2017 to 2021.
