George Papandreou
George Papandreou is a computer vision researcher who co-wrote DeepLab, a semantic image segmentation paper, and PersonLab, a bottom-up approach to pose estimation. He earned a diploma in 2003 and a PhD in 2009 at the National Technical University of Athens, then worked as a postdoctoral research scholar at UCLA with Alan Yuille. He joined Google as a research scientist in December 2014. Alan Yuille and his collaborators, including him, received the 2026 ICBS Frontiers of Science Award. His affiliation on MeshPose, a 2024 paper, is Snap Inc.
