Researcher

Jordi Salvador

Jordi Salvador is a researcher in embodied AI and computer vision. He completed a thesis on multi-view video reconstruction at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 2011 and published Naive Bayes Super-Resolution Forest at ICCV in 2015 while at Technicolor. His research includes an agent that learns object properties through interaction, ProcTHOR’s procedural environments, and Objaverse’s annotated 3D models. He coauthored GraspMolmo in 2025 for task-oriented robot grasping; as of October 2026, he is part of AI2’s team and contributes to MolmoSpaces for robot navigation and manipulation.

Timeline

  1. 2011

    A UPC thesis

At UPC, he completes a thesis on Surface Reconstruction for Multi-View Video in 2011.

  2. 2015

    A super-resolution forest

He publishes Naive Bayes Super-Resolution Forest at ICCV in 2015 with Eduardo Pérez-Pellitero; both are affiliated with Technicolor.

  3. 2020

    Learning through interaction

In 2020, he coauthors Learning About Objects by Learning to Interact with Them, a study in which an agent learns object geometry and relative masses through interaction.

  4. 2022

    A NeurIPS Outstanding Paper

In 2022, NeurIPS gives ProcTHOR an Outstanding Paper award. The framework procedurally generates virtual environments for training embodied AI agents.

  5. December 2022

    A large 3D collection

In December 2022, he coauthors Objaverse 1.0, an annotated collection of more than 800,000 3D models with captions, tags, and animations.

  6. 2025

    Task-oriented robot grasping

In 2025, he coauthors GraspMolmo, an open-vocabulary task-oriented grasping model that predicts stable grasps from a language instruction and a single RGB-D frame.

  7. As of October 2026

    Research at AI2

As of October 2026, he is part of AI2’s team. In February 2026, he contributes to MolmoSpaces, an open ecosystem for robot navigation and manipulation; his work includes asset conversion and physical parameter tuning.
